Maine is on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map.

2026 is a historic opportunity to protect and expand the Democratic majorities in the Maine House and Senate. Keeping Maine blue will allow Democrats to keep making progress for over 1 million Mainers.

Since we flipped the Senate in 2018, Maine Democrats have protected reproductive rights, passed paid family and medical leave, and tackled affordability in housing, health care, and child care. Not only will a Democratic-led legislature continue to provide a bulwark against the chaos from the Trump administration, but we cannot afford to miss this moment to put Maine Democrats on the strongest possible trajectory ahead of redistricting in 2030.

The DLCC is announcing 19 Target Races across the Maine Legislature. We are working directly with the Maine House and Senate caucuses to seize this historic opportunity to shift the balance of political power across the country and grow Democratic power in Maine.
