Last year the Republicans in the Missouri legislature inducted Rush Limbaugh into the Missouri Hall of Fame, and this year their judgement on budget priorities mirrors their decision on whom they think belongs in the state's list of honorees--helping out large corporations while hurting the state's working families.

Democrats in the Wisconsin Legislature are crying foul at Governor Scott Walker's latest budget proposal. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the governor's budget "would widen tax loopholes for businesses, and deliver indefinite amnesty to certain serial tax cheats."

In 2010, on opposite sides of the United States, the Maine and California electorates had two very different reactions to the sluggish economy at the time. California voters returned Democrat Jerry Brown to the governor’s office and increased the number of Democrats in their legislature. In Maine, on the other hand, voters selected tea-party backed Republican Paul LePage as their governor and handed the reins of power in the legislature to Republicans who promised to rubber-stamp his agenda.
