About Matt

Representative Matt Koleszar was raised in Michigan by his working single mother. As a public school teacher for 12 years, Matt saw the struggles schools face firsthand and turned to public service to fix them. In the legislature, Matt has supported legislation that expands voting rights, protects Michigan’s water supply, and increases mental health resources in schools. 

  • Introduced a bill to help alleviate the teacher shortage 
  • Created a coalition that gives local businesses a direct line of communication with the governor
  • Opposed voting restrictions that would have negatively impacted voters with disabilities
