Washington

Senate: Democratic Majority

House: Democratic Majority

Washington is on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map.

DLCC is proud to partner with Washington state Democrats, who wield substantial power to set policy and make progress in a state with more than eight million people.

The Washington Legislature has been on the frontlines of protecting their communities and fighting back against the Trump Administration’s reckless agenda. Democrats have used their majorities to lower costs for renters, help Washingtonians pay off medical debt, and enhance gun safety.

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in the Washington House. Strengthening our majorities will allow Washington Democrats to go on offense against the chaos and cruelty of the Trump administration.

Meet the DLCC’s Washington Target Race Candidates

The DLCC is announcing ten Target Races across the state of Washington to grow the Democratic majority in the legislature.  These candidates are running in some of the most competitive races in the Evergreen State to stand up for their communities and make life better for families across the state.

Senate Deputy Majority Leader Manka Dhingra

With over two decades of experience as a prosecutor and behavioral health expert, Senate Deputy Leader Manka Dhingra has led some of Washington’s most transformative criminal justice reforms. Dhingra’s special election win in 2017 drew national attention as she successfully flipped the seat to secure Democratic Senate control and deliver a Democratic trifecta that has supported the state’s strong and diverse economy. Born in India, she brings a powerful immigrant perspective and a deep commitment to protecting the American Dream.  She broke barriers when she became the first Sikh state legislator elected in the country. Her leadership is urgently needed as state Democrats work to protect their communities from DC Republicans’ attacks.
