WASHINGTON — Washington Democrats just successfully defended their majority in the Senate. Republicans named Washington as one of its flip targets this cycle and dumped nearly $13 million in spending into the state. The DLCC and its state partners remained committed to defending this critical chamber that has set a national standard for effective lawmaking.
“Washingtonians just weren’t swayed by the MAGA GOP’s fearmongering and extremist agenda,” said DLCC President Jessica Post. “In the face of massive investment from Republicans, Washington Democrats never took anything for granted and ran strong campaigns across the state. While the GOP continues to spin MAGA lies and push for abortion bans, Democrats will continue to work for a better future for Washington.”
The DLCC is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning America’s state legislatures. This cycle, the committee raised $50 million to elect state Democrats across the country. State legislatures are the building blocks of our democracy and pass the policies that have the biggest impact on Americans’ day-to-day lives.
