BREAKING: Democrats Hold Nevada Senate

WASHINGTON — Nevada Democrats just successfully defended their majority in the Senate. Republicans named Nevada as one of its flip targets this cycle and inundated the state with nearly $9.2 million in spending. The DLCC identified Nevada as a target early last year and worked tirelessly with our state partners to defend this critical chamber.

“Nevadans saw right through the GOP’s lies and rejected their election denialism and attacks on abortion rights,” said DLCC President Jessica Post. “Despite the MAGA movement funneling millions into the Battle Born State and the RSLC designating the Senate as one of their flip targets, Nevada Republicans were unable to win the Senate running on election lies and abortion bans. Democrats will continue to build on this victory and help create a safer, more affordable future for Nevadans.”

Nevada was a crucial target in the DLCC’s Path to The Majority strategy to protect Democratic power and make a play for vulnerable GOP majorities. The DLCC invested nearly $2 million in Nevada this cycle, helping state partners lay the groundwork for strong campaigns across the state. The DLCC’s IE arm spent heavily to protect the Nevada majority in the Senate, including mail and digital ads. Nevada Republicans ran on a platform of election lies and extremism instead of focusing on the issues that matter to the Battle Born State.

The DLCC is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning America’s state legislatures. This cycle, the committee raised $50 million to elect state Democrats across the country. State legislatures are the building blocks of our democracy and pass the policies that have the biggest impact on Americans’ day-to-day lives.
