Democrat Ray Lopez Prevails in Texas Runoff
WASHINGTON — Moments ago, Democrat and DLCC Spotlight Candidate Ray Lopez won a critical runoff election in Texas’s 125th House District in a victory for San Antonio families.
“Tonight’s victory for Texas Democrats is a result of working together to maintain the strong momentum that Democrats had in Texas in 2018,” said DLCC Executive Director Jessica Post. “Former San Antonio Councilman Ray Lopez claimed the House District 125 seat by a 17-point margin. Lopez – who served on the San Antonio City Council for eight years and previously chaired the Northside Independent School District and Metropolitan Planning Organization – is a longtime advocate for Texas families who has a proven record of delivering on behalf of his community. He will be a tireless champion for education reform and for fixing broken transportation systems and roads.
