DLCC Announces New Board Member

 

 

WASHINGTON — Today the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) Executive Director Jessica Post announced a new DLCC Board Member as the organization continues to expand its reach before 2018 midterm elections, and prepare state Democrats for success ahead of redistricting in 2020.

 

“The DLCC is excited to have New Jersey Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald join our Board of Directors,” said Post. “New Jersey has had great success in recent cycles of growing their Democratic majorities in the Assembly, Senate, and Governor’s Mansion. Leader Greenwald will be an excellent addition to the Board and we look forward to working with him – and relying on his experience – as we work to elect Democratic majorities in state legislatures nationwide.”

 

Leader Greenwald has represented New Jersey’s 6th Legislative District since 1996, and has served as Majority Leader since 2012. He has fought for property tax relief for working families and seniors, championed legislation to create better jobs for the middle class, and worked to ensure all New Jerseyans have access to quality, affordable health care. Leader Greenwald has been the leading voice since 2013 pushing for a gun violence prevention package that just passed the State Assembly last month, and he continues to serve as a strong advocate for common sense gun laws.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be appointed to the Board of Directors of the DLCC,” said Leader Greenwald. “Our success in legislative elections in New Jersey speak for themselves. We added the most Democratic seats to our Assembly and Senate chambers in the nation over the last decade, almost all of which were gained under a Republican governor.

“Momentum is clearly on our side as we will look aggressively to flip seats and win state houses across the country. I am immensely excited about the opportunity to replicate our successes beyond just New Jersey and help elect Democrats nationwide.”

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is the only organization exclusively committed to electing Democrats to state legislatures all over the country and winning Democratic control of chambers.
