WASHINGTON — The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is announcing two Spotlight candidates who are running in special elections to the Virginia House of Delegates on January 5th. Candi King (HD-2) and Angelia Williams Graves (HD-90) are dedicated public servants who are ready to fight for their communities in Richmond.

“After we flipped both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly in 2019, we’ve seen incredible progress in the commonwealth,” said DLCC President Jessica Post. “I’m so excited that we have these amazing public servants stepping up to hold these seats and fight for Virginians.”

Candi King, running in HD-2 in Prince William and Stafford Counties, is an engaged community leader and former small business owner who is ready to work on pandemic relief and fight for much-needed sick leave legislation.

Angelia Williams Graves, running in HD-90 in Hampton Roads, is a lifelong Virginian who served on the Norfolk City Council for a decade. She is passionate about criminal justice reform and fighting for quality education.

The DLCC is the sole Democratic organization dedicated to winning state legislative seats. After flipping the Virginia General Assembly in 2019, the DLCC and Virginia Democrats are ready to defend the House majority in 2021.
