In response to Republicans’ blatant power grabs across the country, the DLCC has called for the party to go on offense on redistricting
WASHINGTON — Missouri Republicans just cheated the system to rig their congressional maps, empowered by Texas Republicans’ blatant power grab and Trump’s directives. Time and again, Missouri Republicans have snatched power from voters: repealing voter-approved sick leave protections, undermining abortion rights, and stalling the expansion of affordable health care.
Republicans in the states have proven they will not shy away from using their power to subvert voters and democracy, which is why the DLCC is staying laser-focused on building and expanding Democratic power in the states.
Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Heather Williams issued the following statement:
“While Missouri families struggle with higher grocery bills and health care costs, Republicans continue to chip away at our democracy. Ensuring we elect strong Democratic majorities in the states is the best way to keep our democracy out of the hands of Republicans, who have proven they will stop at nothing to protect their own power ahead of 2026.”
