Nearly 100 Republican Lawmakers Sign Onto Conspiracy Theorist Letter

WASHINGTON — Nearly 100 Republican lawmakers representing over 30 states have signed onto a letter calling for a 50 state sham election review. The letter is spearheaded by Arizona state Senator Wendy Rogers, member of Oath Keepers and noted conspiracy theorist, in the latest GOP effort to undermine our democracy. The list of signatories also includes four Republican lawmakers who attended the January 6th insurrection. This call comes on the heels of the conclusion of Arizona Republicans’ deeply compromised sham review of the 2020 election, which was an attempt to overturn a fair and free election, a massive grift, and a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Republican legislators who fail to condemn their dangerous crusade stand with them in their attempts to undermine our democracy.

“Republicans will stop at nothing to subvert our democracy,” said Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Jessica Post. “The Republican obsession with overturning the will of the voters shows no signs of stopping — and enough is enough. But Wendy Rogers and her crew of insurrectionists won’t listen to calls from Democrats. It’s on Republican Party leadership to loudly and clearly tell their members to call off these efforts and focus on the issues facing their constituents.”

Since the conclusion of the 2020 election, Republican lawmakers have ramped up their anti-democratic efforts by passing extreme voter suppression bills targeting communities of color, moving forward with taxpayer-funded sham election reviews, and spreading conspiracy theories. 21 Republican lawmakers attended the January 6th insurrection where they marched alongside the crowd of traitors who would later storm the U.S. Capitol.
