WASHINGTON — New Hampshire Senate Republicans voted down a bill to protect abortion access yesterday, showing once again that they won’t protect the fundamental rights of Granite Staters. This party-line vote clearly demonstrates that Republicans could seek further restrictions on abortion, while Democrats are working to defend reproductive freedoms.
“It is unfortunately no surprise that New Hampshire Republicans voted against protecting safe and accessible reproductive care,” interim DLCC President Heather Williams said. “Time and time again, the New Hampshire GOP shows us their priorities and make it clear they would try to restrict abortion rights even further in the Granite State. Democrats are committed to protecting personal freedom in their state”
The DLCC is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning America’s state legislatures. Last year, the DLCC defied the odds by not losing any state legislative majorities, flipping four key chambers, and creating four new Democratic trifectas – the best midterm year for the party in power since at least 1934.
