Defending the DFL trifecta is essential for protecting Minnesotans’ freedoms from Trump’s dangerous MAGA agenda
WASHINGTON — Today, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee announced a $250K investment in the Minnesota House to protect the Democratic trifecta. As Republicans advance their wildly unpopular Project 2025 MAGA agenda across the country, Minnesota’s Democratic trifecta is a key top line of defense for fundamental freedoms and democracy in the North Star State.
This new investment comes as part of the DLCC’s $10 million investment in top battleground states delivered through our ‘Summer of the States’ campaign, which the DLCC launched to prevent a MAGA takeover of statehouses through an early call to action in the states. As we enter the heart of campaign season, these investments will strengthen critical infrastructure to support Democratic power-building in the states, including building on strong candidate recruitment, staff hiring, digital investments, field operations, and more.
The DLCC has been on the frontlines supporting Minnesota Democrats in their fight to win and defend their majorities for cycles. In 2022, Democrats defended the House and clinched a one-seat majority in the Senate in order to start delivering for the people of their state through a unified Democratic trifecta. DFLers have since passed legislation to fund free breakfast and lunch for K-12 students, increase funding for mental health services, protect school library books from censorship, establish paid family leave, and enshrine protections for abortion into state law. All of this progress is at stake in November and the DLCC is leaving nothing to chance as we defend the Democratic trifecta.
