Lieutenant Governor-elect Ghazala Hashmi will play a critical role in breaking ties in the narrowly divided Democrat-led Virginia Senate
WASHINGTON — Democratic nominee for Virginia Lieutenant Governor and DLCC Spotlight Candidate Sen. Ghazala Hashmi just flipped the lieutenant governorship in Virginia, in a win that ensures Democrats will hold the power to cast the tie-breaking vote in the narrowly divided Virginia Senate for the next four years.
Democrats also won the governor’s race – proof that Virginia voters want a strong Democratic firewall to shield them from the chaos and extremism of the MAGA agenda.
