NEW POLL: An overwhelming majority of Indiana voters oppose Republicans’ power grabs

WASHINGTON — Instead of addressing Republicans’ disastrous Medicaid cuts that are threatening Indiana rural hospitals or finding ways to lower costs for Indiana’s working families, Indiana state legislators are spending the day at the White House schmoozing with Trump. Despite the overwhelming majority of Hoosiers who oppose the Indiana GOP’s blatant power grab, it’s clear these state legislators only care about their constituency of one in the Oval Office.
Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Heather Williams issued the following statement:
“Indiana Republicans know their party’s policies of cutting Medicaid and raising prices on working families are a disaster, which is why they’re spending the day at the White House desperately plotting ways to silence voters to stay in power. Regardless of their attempts to rig the maps, the writing is on the wall for Republicans. In red and blue areas across the country, voters are showing up and supporting Democratic candidates who are standing up for the issues they care most about. Indiana working families know they deserve better than the cowardly legislators bowing to Trump in the White House today, and the DLCC will continue to work to elect the Democratic champions they deserve.”
