WASHINGTON — Today, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) announced 2024 Spotlight candidates in Nebraska, who provide opportunities to maintain and build Democratic power by returning a strong Democrat and flipping a seat. The two Spotlight candidates unveiled today are Victor Rountree, running for LD-3, and Mary Ann Folchert, running for LD-31.
- Victor Rountree is a pastor who served in the United States Air Force for 30 years. He is running to strengthen Nebraska’s public schools, promote public safety, and advocate for affordable health care.
- Mary Ann Folchert was a teacher in the same Omaha public school district she attended as a student. Mary Ann is running against an extreme MAGA opponent who sponsored the bills that created an abortion ban and restricted gender-affirming care.
Republicans’ extremism in Nebraska won’t go unanswered in November, and our Spotlight candidates in Nebraska represent two of the best opportunities to check the MAGA agenda in the legislature and continue Democrats’ momentum in the state.
