Washington, DC – Today, eight Georgia Senate Republicans filed a complaint against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for her attempts to hold Donald Trump accountable for his role in trying to subvert the will of Georgia voters and overturn the 2020 election results.
Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Communications Director Abhi Rahman issued the following statement:
“Georgia Senate Republicans have once again proven that fealty to Donald Trump means more to them than the will of Georgia voters. Fani Willis is doing the job she was elected to do – prosecuting crimes in her county. Lawless Georgia Republicans refuse to accept the Georgia Constitution and are using their elected positions to benefit Donald Trump. It’s time to elect candidates that respect the rule of law, whether it benefits their political party or not. It’s time to elect Georgia Democrats and put a check on the worst instincts of a MAGA extremist party.”
