For Third Straight Month, DLCC Sets New Fundraising Record

WASHINGTON — After breaking its previous fundraising record in August and again in September, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee’s (DLCC) Executive Director Jessica Post has announced that the committee has once again reached new heights with the help of its dedicated group of grassroots supporters.

 

Thanks to an influx of support and over 25,000 online donations from grassroots supporters with an average donation of $38.21, the DLCC has raised $4.3 million in October, totaling over $35 million raised so far this cycle, an all-time record for the organization. Online small-dollar contributions accounted for $1 million of the total amount raised this past month, which is more than the DLCC raised online in all of 2015. In addition to this critical haul, the DLCC is proud to announce that its extensive network of supporters has already knocked on more than 13 million doors and will continue to pound the pavement to reach voters during the critical “Get Out The Vote” period before the midterm elections next week.

 

“Breaking new records month after month is proof positive that Americans are ready to vote for change, and the DLCC is hard at work executing winning strategies to take back our states on Nov. 6,” said DLCC Executive Director Jessica Post. “Every dollar donated to the DLCC will go a long way in helping campaigns execute smart field programs, utilize innovative data modeling and analysis, and working with grassroots supporters to harness the unprecedented Democratic momentum that continues to grow around the country. Now it comes down to the shoe leather of our democracy – we’ve got to keep knocking on doors and reaching out to voters over the next six days so we can reclaim our state legislatures and move our nation forward one state at a time.”

 

After flipping 44 state legislative seats since Trump was elected, the DLCC and state Democrats are sending a message that there is no such thing as a “safe Republican” district. With Democrats only 17 seats away from flipping eight chambers and critical majorities on the line, the DLCC is confident headed into Election Day.

 

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is the only organization exclusively committed to electing Democrats to state legislatures all over the country and winning Democratic control of chambers. For over two decades, the DLCC has been working with state legislative leaders to invest strategically in state programs, which has led to Democrats flipping 44 seats since Trump was elected.
