David Ortiz

Representative David Ortiz has dedicated his life to public service. David, a former Army aviator, became paralyzed from the waist down when his helicopter crashed in Afghanistan. Since then, he has fought tirelessly for his fellow veterans and the hard-working people of Colorado. David became the first openly bisexual person elected to the Colorado legislature when he won his election in 2020.

• Fought to secure additional resources for veterans and provide college credit for military education and training 
• Flipped a red seat in 2020, defeating a Republican who went on to attend the insurrection
