JD Ford

Senator JD Ford is the proud son of a union truck driver and an assisted living administrator who worked tirelessly so that he could be the first in his family to graduate from college. JD now serves as one of the Senate's youngest members and as the first and only openly gay member of the General Assembly. He stands out as a fierce advocate for students and LGBTQ+ communities, protecting students from for-profit colleges and condemning anti-transgender legislation.
