Maria Beltran is the daughter of Mexican immigrants running to win a brand-new majority-Latino seat in the Washington Senate. Maria grew up in Yakima, learning the values of hard work and integrity from her parents as they picked crops. She later became the first member of her family to graduate from high school and college before taking on the Evergreen State’s biggest challenges in both state and local government. Maria is running for office to lower costs, expand educational and economic opportunities, and keep communities safe from gun violence and other crimes.
