About Marilyn

Sen. Marilyn Dondero Loop is a former public school teacher and Nevada Assemblymember from Las Vegas running for reelection to the Nevada Senate this fall. Marilyn worked as an educator in the Clark County School District for thirty years and served in the Nevada Assembly for six. Since 2018, Marilyn has served in the Nevada Senate, where she has championed legislation to improve public education and create economic opportunities for working families.

Marilyn is a seasoned candidate with an impressive track record of winning competitive elections. With the support of the DLCC’s Target Races program, she’s in an excellent position to defend this battleground district in November and help Democrats build on their majority in the Nevada Senate.

Nevada

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Nevada and establish a blue supermajority in the state Assembly.

Since flipping both chambers of the Nevada legislature in 2016, Democratic leadership has brought sweeping progress to the state, including universal free school meals for students, minimum wage increases, and civil rights protections for women and LGBTQ+ Nevadans.

The DLCC has been on the ground in Nevada cycle after cycle, supporting candidates in the most competitive races to protect Democratic majorities in the state Senate and Assembly.

This year, Democrats in the Nevada Assembly need to gain just one seat to secure a supermajority, bringing them closer to passing key legislation even if a Republican governor attempts to veto it.

With so much work still needed to ensure a bright future for the state, we can’t afford to lose an inch of ground to Republican extremism in Nevada.
