A former elementary school teacher, Maura is a well-known community organizer, having helped start her county’s chapter of Moms Demand Action and working with legislators to enact common sense gun reform at the national and state level. In the House, Maura has brought the same commitment to bolstering public schools, protecting workers, and keeping families safe from gun violence across Illinois.
