About Sandra
Rep. Sandra Jauregui, a first-generation American and the current Nevada Assembly Majority Leader, is running to flip the Nevada Lieutenant Governorship blue in November. Sandra has dedicated her life to uplifting working families and keeping Nevada communities safe, championing legislation to address gun violence, cap the cost of insulin, and provide free school meals to students, while helping secure a historic $2.6 billion investment in public education. If she is elected to be Nevada’s next lieutenant governor, Sandra will continue to fight tirelessly for the people of her home state.
Nevada’s Lieutenant Governor is the second-highest executive office in the state, and casts tie-breaking votes in the state Senate. Sandra knows how to run a winning campaign and has defended her seat in the Nevada Assembly for a decade. With the backing of the DLCC’s Target Races program, she is well-positioned to win her race and help ensure a bright future for all Nevadans.
Nevada
2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Nevada and establish a blue supermajority in the state Assembly.
Since flipping both chambers of the Nevada legislature in 2016, Democratic leadership has brought sweeping progress to the state, including universal free school meals for students, minimum wage increases, and civil rights protections for women and LGBTQ+ Nevadans.
The DLCC has been on the ground in Nevada cycle after cycle, supporting candidates in the most competitive races to protect Democratic majorities in the state Senate and Assembly.
This year, Democrats in the Nevada Assembly need to gain just one seat to secure a supermajority, bringing them closer to passing key legislation even if a Republican governor attempts to veto it.
With so much work still needed to ensure a bright future for the state, we can’t afford to lose an inch of ground to Republican extremism in Nevada.
