Valerie Jordan was raised on tobacco fields outside of rural Warrenton, North Carolina. She went on to earn her MBA, start a successful consulting firm, and become the first Black woman to serve on the NC Department of Transportation Board. In the state Senate, Valerie will fight for rural communities, advance environmental justice, and prioritize economic mobility for all of North Carolina.
