The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning the fight for America’s state legislatures.
About Virginia
Virginia Stapleton, a mom and former Salem City Council president, is running to flip a seat in the Oregon Senate this fall. During her time as a city councilor, Virginia helped increase the city’s affordable housing supply by over 4,000 units, passed safety improvements to infrastructure, and reduced Salem’s emergency response times. If Virginia is elected in November, she is committed to improving access to affordable health care, improving public schools, addressing the rising cost of living, and protecting her community from unconstitutional ICE raids.
In 2024, Virginia ran as a DLCC Target Race candidate, coming within just over 1,000 votes of unseating a GOP incumbent. This year, she’s back, stronger than ever, to flip District 11 and help Democrats gain the two seats needed to establish a supermajority in the Oregon Senate.
Oregon
2026 is a historic opportunity to expand Democratic majorities in the Oregon state legislature and establish a blue supermajority in the Oregon Senate.
The DLCC has been on the ground in Oregon cycle after cycle to help build a solid foundation for Democratic governance and protect over 4 million Oregonians from MAGA extremism.
Republicans have delayed critical bills on gun safety, climate protections, and reproductive freedom by denying a quorum. This year, Oregon Senate Democrats only need to gain two seats to establish a two-thirds supermajority capable of enacting important legislation and denying Republicans the opportunity to break quorum.
This November, expanding our power in Oregon is the only way to ensure Democrats can continue delivering for working families on issues such as protecting access to health care and lowering the cost of living.
