ICYMI: Boston Globe: Democrats in New Hampshire Aim to Crack a GOP Trifecta

Press Releases

WASHINGTON — This week, the Boston Globe reported on the remarkable winning streak of New Hampshire House Democrats that has put them within striking distance of breaking the state’s Republican trifecta. In this year’s special elections, the DLCC and New Hampshire Democrats are undefeated and are poised to build on this momentum with the next special election on Nov. 7.

An unusually close margin in the nation’s largest state legislative chamber has elevated the importance of every special election this year and the DLCC and New Hampshire Democrats have been going after every opportunity to build power for the Democratic caucus. With more upcoming special elections, including on Nov. 7, the DLCC will continue to fight to crack the GOP trifecta and put an end to MAGA extremists’ control.

From the Boston Globe

These recent victories are only part of a massive trend of Democratic overperformance in special elections this year. Voters have resoundingly rejected MAGA extremism across the country and are on the verge of dismantling the GOP trifecta in New Hampshire. The support for DLCC Spotlight Candidate Paige Beauchemin is a testament to the vital role she could play in shifting the balance of power and bringing us one seat closer to breaking the current GOP trifecta.

The DLCC is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning America’s state legislatures. Last year, the DLCC defied the odds by not losing any state legislative majorities, flipping four key chambers, and creating four new Democratic trifectas – the best midterm year for the party in power since at least 1934. State legislatures are the building blocks of our democracy and pass the policies that have the biggest impact on Americans’ day-to-day lives.
