WASHINGTON — Today, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee unveiled its “Down Ballot Defenders” program, which launched earlier this quarter and marks the first branded recurring donor program at this level of the ballot and one of the only branded recurring donor email programs of any Democratic committee. This new donor program includes a coalition of monthly grassroots donors who are committed to expanding and defending Democratic majorities and loosening Republicans’ grip on our statehouses.

Under the leadership of Nick Andricola, Director of Online Fundraising, Audrey Holzrichter, Email and SMS Manager, and Roman Adams, Online Fundraising Assistant, the DLCC has created an impactful community of monthly donors. The Down Ballot Defenders Program supports our committee’s ability to strategize and maximize resources and has been a catalyst for record-breaking fundraising. The results in the first quarter from this program speak for themselves, with the newly launched program delivering the DLCC’s best Q1 for grassroots giving in our history, including our best January, February, and March ever.
Additionally, since this program launched:
- Our grassroots donor community contributed over $2.3 million in Q1, which is 45% higher than our previous best grassroots giving for the first quarter.
- 17% of current active recurring donations began during Q1 this year.
- If projections stand, our Down Ballot Defenders will raise over 20% of our grassroots income for the 2023-2024 cycle.
