DLCC Announces Another Special Election Win
Democrats Win Another New Hampshire Special Election Ahead Of Crucial Senate Election Next Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Executive Director Jessica Post congratulated Democrat Kris Schultz on her victory in a New Hampshire House special election. Schultz’s landslide win secures Merrimack District 18 as a Democratic stronghold. Schultz, a dedicated community organizer and activist, outperformed Hillary Clinton’s November numbers in the Concord district by 20 points.

“Congratulations to Representative-elect Schultz on her victory tonight,” said Post. “Her life-long dedication to social justice and advancing Democratic values will benefit all New Hampshirites. This win adds to Democrats’ winning momentum in the state following Rep. Edie DesMarais’s success flipping a House seat from red to blue, and sets the stage for Democrat Kevin Cavanaugh’s critical special election for a state Senate seat. DLCC is proud of our work in support of New Hampshire Democrats and looks forward to celebrating more victories in the Granite State.”

Tonight’s victory follows last week’s wins in Oklahoma, where Democrats flipped two seats in the state House. Democrats have overperformed in almost every legislative special election while claiming additional victories in Delaware, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New York, and more. DLCC looks forward to continuing our support of Democrats in Virginia, New Jersey, Washington, Florida, and beyond as they build on Democrats’ winning momentum heading into 2018 elections.
