DLCC Announces Record November Fundraising

WASHINGTON — The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and its affiliated organizations announced a record-breaking fundraising haul of nearly $2.1 million raised in November, marking its best November in the committee’s history. The DLCC and its affiliated organizations have also hit $20 million this cycle, its fastest pace ever. These historic fundraising totals prove that Democrats are fired up and are ready to fight back as the importance of state legislatures has become crystal clear amid Republican attacks on abortion rights.

“With the looming Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade and Republican state legislatures rolling back reproductive rights, voters are energized now more than ever to protect and expand Democratic-controlled state legislatures so that we can safeguard our fundamental rights,” said Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Jessica Post. “Our November fundraising numbers prove that Democratic organizers, activists, and voters understand the gravity of this fight. The DLCC stands with the overwhelming majority of the American people who don’t want to see Roe v. Wade overturned and we will continue to raise hell to protect reproductive rights across the country.”

Increasingly, the fight for progress in our country is happening in statehouses, especially when it comes to reproductive rights. In fact, 22 states already have laws that could be used to restrict legal abortions and the Supreme Court is currently weighing whether to uphold Mississippi’s law, which bans most abortions after 15 weeks, and overturn Roe v. Wade. In order to prevent these radical attacks on reproductive and other fundamental rights, we must increase the attention, investment, and motivation to elect Democrats to statehouses and prevent these state-level policies that can affect people across the country from being signed into law in the first place.
