WASHINGTON — With just two weeks until Election Day, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is announcing its slate of Spotlight candidates in Missouri and Tennessee, as well as additional candidates in Georgia and Florida. Strong leaders from across the country are running strong campaigns to hold Republicans accountable and fight to make life better for their communities.
“Democrats are on offense across the country this year, and we’re working hard in the final weeks to hold the GOP accountable for its disastrous record,” said DLCC President Jessica Post. “These incredible Democratic candidates are proven community leaders who are fighting to improve the lives of every American.”
Democrats are on offense in districts across the country this year, and are poised to make gains all over the map. In Missouri, Democrats need to flip just two seats to break the GOP supermajority in the state Senate, which would give them more leverage to fight for progress on voting rights, affordable health care, and fair redistricting.
The final additions to the Southern slate of Spotlight candidates include:
- Florida: Julie Jenkins (HD-60), Jessica Harrington (HD-64), Maureen Porras (HD-105), JP Bado (HD-114)
- Georgia:Representative Mary Frances Williams (HD-37), Representative Mary Robichaux (HD-48), Representative Gregg Kennard (HD-102), Representative Jasmine Clark (HD-108), Representative Bob Trammell, Jr. (HD-132)
- Missouri:Doug Beck (SD-1), Deb Lavender (SD-15), Senator Lauren Arthur (SD-17), Judy Baker (SD-19)
- Tennessee:Brandon Thomas (HD-49), Gabby Salinas (HD-97)
The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is the official Democratic organization dedicated to winning state legislative seats. Earlier this year, the DLCC announced its $50 million “Flip Everything” campaign, an unprecedented effort to win legislative majorities across the country. Since Donald Trump’s election, the DLCC and state partners have flipped more than 450 seats and 10 chambers from red to blue.
