WASHINGTON — Last night Jimmy Dillon won a special election in Pennsylvania, holding the Democratic seat in SD-5. Senator-elect Jimmy Dillon will fight for strong schools, union apprenticeships and jobs, and safe neighborhoods in the state Senate.
“As conspiracy theorists and insurrectionists become the standard-bearers of the Pennsylvania Republican Party, Democrats are focused on the issues that are top of mind for working families: good schools, safe communities, and rising costs,” said DLCC President Jessica Post. “We want to congratulate Jimmy Dillon on his win tonight and look forward to watching him fight for his lifelong community in the state Senate.”
Senator-elect Jimmy Dillion is a grant compliance monitor for the school district of Philadelphia and a local small business owner. He has already created dozens of jobs in the region and will keep his focus on growing the economy in the Senate with his efforts to increase the state minimum wage and expand job training and union apprenticeship programs. Jimmy will also focus on increasing teacher pay and investment in public schools and creating safer neighborhoods by tackling gun violence and providing mental health and substance abuse treatment.
