WASHINGTON — The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee today added Raegan LaRochelle (HD-86) to its list of Spotlight candidates ahead of the Maine House special election this November. Flipping this seat would grow Democrats’ majority in the House and strengthen the Democratic trifecta in Maine.
“Raegan LaRochelle is already a leader in her community — from serving on the Augusta City Council to coaching local youth sports and volunteering at the local library while raising her family. The DLCC is thrilled to support Raegan because we know she will continue to put her community first and be a champion for affordable housing, good schools, quality jobs, and accessible health care for working families,” said DLCC President Jessica Post.
As a current member of the Augusta City Council, Raegan LaRochelle has shown her commitment to public service and improving the lives of her constituents. She will continue this work in the Maine House.
Together with Democratic Governor Janet Mills, Democrats in the Maine Legislature have passed legislation including increasing renewable energy, investing in education, expanding abortion access, and protecting LGBTQ Mainers.
