Today, ahead of Labor Day weekend, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and its staff union, DLCC United, are proud to announce a collective bargaining agreement has been reached and ratified with the support of both DLCC leadership and the overwhelming majority of DLCC United members. The contract includes wage increases for lowest paid staff and recall protection for laid-off employees, in addition to other negotiated benefits.

“We are incredibly proud of our team and this agreement both protects and advances the values we share,” said interim DLCC President Heather Williams. “Our leadership team looks forward to working further with DLCC United to build the best team in politics as we continue our critical mission of winning back Democratic power in state legislatures.”

“We are very excited to enter this agreement with the DLCC. We fought hard together, and the result speaks for itself,” said DLCC United Representatives Geordan Neinstein and Cory Van Andel. “With a turnout of 90% of eligible workers, the union unanimously voted yes on our contract.”

DLCC United is the recognized bargaining unit for staff at the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and is a member of Teamsters Local 238. It was founded in the fall of 2022.

The DLCC is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning America’s state legislatures. Last year, the DLCC defied the odds by not losing any state legislative majorities, flipping four key chambers, and creating four new Democratic trifectas – the best midterm year for the party in power since at least 1934. State legislatures are the building blocks of our democracy and pass the policies that have the biggest impact on Americans’ day-to-day lives.
