Louisiana Democrats Win HD-18 In Special Election
Jeremy LaCombe will head to Baton Rouge

WASHINGTON — Tonight in Louisiana, voters elected Democrat Jeremy LaCombe to represent HD-18, putting a halt to Republican attempts to attain a supermajority and veto-override power.

“Tonight’s win for Democrat Jeremy LaCombe is a huge victory for all Louisianans and a huge loss for the Louisiana GOP,” said DLCC Executive Director Jessica Post. “Although this is a district that Trump won by over 17 points, Representative-elect LaCombe ran an excellent campaign and his double-digit victory tonight is a testament to his commitment to Central Louisiana. We’re thrilled to congratulate Representative-elect LaCombe, and look forward to watching him continue to advocate for his community from the Louisiana State Capitol.”
