The DLCC’s investment will boost DFLers’ chances in the most competitive races to retain the majority and the DFL trifecta

WASHINGTON — Today, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee announced an additional investment of $500k in Minnesota to protect the Democratic majority in the state House and defend the DFL’s governing trifecta. DFLers in the Minnesota House have made incredible progress for their constituents and will continue to stand up to Donald Trump and his state allies as they try to move their MAGA agenda through the states.

DFLers have passed laws to fund free breakfast and lunch for K-12 students, increase funding for mental health services, protect school library books from censorship, establish paid family and medical leave, and enshrine protection for reproductive freedom. The DLCC is committed to defending this progress and supporting our 13 Spotlight candidates as they run in the most competitive races to defend the DFL’s slim majority in the House.

Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Heather Williams issued the following statement:

“All of the progress made by the Democratic trifecta is on the line this November as we seek to defend our majority in the Minnesota House. Freedom and progress are on the ballot in Minnesota and our Spotlight candidates are running in the toughest races to ensure the legislature can continue making a real difference for Minnesota communities. The DLCC recognizes the stakes of these races in Minnesota and our investment will bolster DFLers chances of defending the trifecta as they communicate with voters in the critical final weeks of this election.”

The DLCC is the official arm of the Democratic Party with the sole mission of building Democratic power in the states and setting the national agenda at the state level. Over the last decade, we have fought cycle-over-cycle to gain a dozen new legislative chamber majorities and we are leading the effort to bring national attention and investment to our ballot level. State legislatures are the building blocks of our democracy and have the closest connections to Americans’ day-to-day lives. From protecting fundamental freedoms and voting rights to growing the middle class, the DLCC and state legislators are moving the Democratic agenda forward and shaping the future of this country.
