WASHINGTON — The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is announcing 22 Spotlight candidates from Michigan who are ready to push back against GOP extremism and fight for what matters to everyday Michiganders. From proven statehouse leaders to diverse first-time candidates, Michigan Democrats have an incredible slate of candidates on the ballot this fall. While the Michigan GOP lines its ranks with conspiracy theorists, insurrectionists, and anti-abortion extremists, these Spotlight candidates from all walks of life are ready to protect reproductive rights, fully fund public schools, and deliver affordable health care for the people of Michigan.
“This fall, voting rights, abortion access, and democracy itself are on the ballot in Michigan,” said DLCC President Jessica Post. “With so much at stake this fall, we are so excited to have such an amazing slate of candidates who are more than ready to push back against GOP extremism, protect our democracy, and secure reproductive rights for millions. Michigan Republicans are out of step with their constituents, spending the last two years attacking abortion access and spreading election lies. Our Spotlight candidates will check Republican extremism at the door this fall.”
